Topic: Representing Native Plants in Alberta: How Art Shapes Conservation
Date: March 9th, 2026
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Location: Grande Prairie Public Library (Google Maps )
The way we visually represent nature shapes how we see it, and the way we see it influences how we care for and protect it. Together, we will explore how scientific illustration, photography, and other tools shape the way we identify and understand Alberta’s native flora. By looking closely at how plants and plant features are represented across different contexts, we will consider how art and visual knowledge shape cultural attitudes toward native plants and the landscapes they inhabit.
