ANPC hosts a variety of programs and events throughout the year, including an annual workshop and a fieldtrip (known as Botany Alberta) at a variety of locations across the province. In addition, we host Plant Study Groups in the winter season within Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Peace River (with more locations pending volunteer coordinators).
Want to put your native plant knowledge into action in your own garden? Each growing season, we facilitate the Native Plant Garden Challenge for members to connect, share resources and stories about their gardening journeys.
Lastly, in order to increase our reach across the province, we host an online webinar series in the winter season. These webinars are recorded and hosted on the Member’s Portal of our website as a membership benefit.
Explore each of these programs further below. Interested or have ideas about native plant events, presenters or field trip locations? Get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator: volunteer@anpc.ab.ca.
For upcoming events, please view our Events Calendar.
In addition to our seasonal events, we also coordinate a number of conservation campaigns pertaining to issues affecting native plant conservation and restoration in Alberta, our volunteers act as stewards for four conservation areas of provincial significance, and we fund both projects and students through our small grants program and student bursary. These programs are described further below. Interested in participating as a volunteer on a committee? Contact volunteer@anpc.ab.ca.
