Join the Calgary Plant Study Group on December 6th for A PEAK BEHIND THE DOORS – a Tour of the University of Calgary Herbarium! Housing over 102,500 vascular specimens with an additional 15,000 non-vascular specimens, the Herbarium is dedicated to the collection, preservation and documentation of plant biodiversity for scientific study. The collections include vascular plants, mosses, algae and fungi from Western Canada and around the world. An introduction to the Herbarium Reference Collection and companion Digital Collection for the vascular plants of Alberta will follow.The group will meet at the Herbarium at the University of Calgary at 1-3 pm.
