The next meeting of the Calgary Plant Study Group is Saturday, March 1st: Establishment and Maintenance of Native Plant Communities.
Nathan Gill & Kaitlin Mercier from EcoLogic Horticulture, a local plant nursery and seed supplier, will present on the challenges facing large-scale native plant restoration and landscaping projects as well as tried and tested solutions that are gaining momentum in the industry.
They will share insights from the native seed supply chain, native plant nurseries, as well as considerations, and approaches for establishing native species as well as some of the tools that can be used to ensure diverse and healthy plant communities are established and maintained.
For those interested, we will continue with the preparation of specimens from the Isaac Rotstein collection for an hour after the meeting. Everyone is invited to join this hands-on activity.
