Alberta has released a public engagement on their planned Nature Strategy: https://www.alberta.ca/nature-strategy-engagement
This is a valuable opportunity for Albertans to weigh in with their perspectives on how they value our native plants and ecosystems. Please take some time to participate and have your voice heard before November 7th!
Our friends at CPAWS have released a survey guide you might use to help inform some of your key responses, including:
– Emphasizing the inherent value of our native species and ecosystems, which are not easily quantified through market mechanisms.
– Addressing the importance of Indigenous-led conservation.
– The importance of meeting the target of 30% protected areas by 2030 (we’re only halfway there!)
