We will explore key morphological features used to classify plants into families. For each plant family, we&#8217;ll &#8220;meet the relatives&#8221; by providing examples of common genera. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Participants will have hands-on time to examine herbarium specimens, identify their diagnostic characteristics, and practice sorting the plants into families. Please bring your favourite plant identification guide, a notebook, and a pencil. A magnifying glass of jeweller&#8217;s loupe is optional. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group will meet in the Herbarium at the University of Calgary Room 13 in the Biological Sciences Building from 1-3pm.
