Sunday Tour: Sunday, March 17, 10:00am, Centre Core of Lethbridge College featuring their new soil pedon acquisitions. The 110 soil monoliths were donated to Lethbridge College by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in June 2018. They represent 8 of the 10 soil orders in Canada and were collected in the 1950’s and 1960’s from sites in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbiaand the Yukon. The collection is valued at approximately $240,000; however it’s value as a teaching tool is priceless. On this tour you will learn what these monoliths tell us about soil formation and why they are so important to students of agriculture and environmental sciences.
